Mission Statement

Young Credit Union Professionals was founded to encourage the voices of young professionals within the credit union movement.  Our mission is to recruit, develop and retain, young talented professionals within the industry by engaging them in education, advocacy and growth opportunities.  We are individuals committed to improving our communities, our credit unions and ourselves by embracing the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”.<

Young Credit Union Professionals was founded at the 2008 CUAO Annual Meeting and Convention. YCUP was created by young credit union professionals for young credit union professionals. Our mission is simple: Recruit, Develop, and Retain young professionals into the credit union industry.

Statistics:

  • The average age of credit union CEOs is 51.
  • 16% of credit union CEOs are over the age of 60.
  • The average age of credit union board members is 56.
  • 36% of credit union board members are over the age of 56.

Our Goals:

  • Recruit, Develop, and Retain Young talent professionals into the credit union industry
  • Promote the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”
  • Create professional opportunities for those it the network
  • Engage network members in their community
  • Provide a voice for young professionals in the credit union industry
